If you haven’t seen it yet, Truck Tech on PowerNation is swapping a 2007 LBZ Duramax and Allison into a 1987 Chevy C10 pickup.
I know other forums tend to weigh in on how the PowerNation shows can be a bit on the side of “fluff” with what they do, but I still find their shows interesting and without all the drama of the “reality TV” type automotive shows. I’m interested in what they run into on this project and how they accomplish it. I’m sure there will be debate on how other people would do things, but it is a starting point for discussion.
For example, this episode mainly shows pulling the original engine and drivetrain and test fitting the Duramax and Allison. Seeing video of that and where they’re running into clearance issues goes a lot further than someone posting “I got it to fit with some minor sheetmetal work and clearancing."
