what would be a bad number (border line) i just got a genisys evo scan tool, as soon as i learn how to use it should be able to read it. my lb7 if left ideling will start to smoke a little. i get on the road, in about a 1/2 mile it cleans up

Simple answer.... when it sets an injector-related trouble code.

Run some injector cleaner. I spoke with a fuel shop a while back. The owner reported that many of the injector sets he's seen that were pulled for bad balance rates or a white smoke at idle complaint were due to varnish or sticking nozzle components. Light duty use of the truck (cooler EGTs, low fuel rates, etc.) may contribute. An injector cleaner may help.

On the other hand, if an injector imbalance is caused by worn parts, the situation won't improve despite the best elixir you pour into the tank.
