The dreaded drip under the truck when it was running,.. fuel dripping off the starter,.
Oh No,. the injector return lines between the turbo and the valve cover must be leaking,. Damn!
Took off the CDR,.removed brace from turbo to intake,.removed the heat shield, fought for a long time getting the last factory spring clamp off, and added two new rubber lines,(old ones were petrified) buttoned it all up and fired it up again.
WTF!! fuel dripping off the starter,!!.
So the old fat guy lying down across top of engine (with tender parts not far from the fan) and motor running,
in the dark now with led flashlight,. cannot see where fuel leak is coming from!
Never thinking for one moment that this was the problem,.i put the 3/4" wrench on the injector line and gave it an easy almost 1/2 turn!!!
Fuel leak fixed,..
These lines have been on for 4+ years and many hours of service,
This was a new one for me,.
guess i,m a poor mechanic that didn't tighten the line properly all those engine hours ago,..
Has this happened to anyone else ??
