I need some suggestions. I have a 1990 Chevy Suburban 4WD frame with a H1 body guerrilla kit and I'm looking to replace the current gas V8 engine, like to look at a reasonable Diesel engine with a transmission that would give me good performance but not looking for crazy results. Like reasonable priced and installation consideration if that can even be said together. Factory rear end and frame still on truck. Thank you in advance for your feedback!

The 6.5 Optimizer would be a good choice, check these out.

I would put in a pre 1998 12 valve Cummins 6bt backed by a nv4500 5 speed manual transmission. There are quite a few of these engines for sale for not too much because the engines outlasted the truck they were in. It won't be powerful in stock form but that can easily be fixed.
