Lemon buy back by GM. In March, we traded our 2005 Chevy truck with over two hundred eighteen thousand miles on it for a new 2015 Chevy 2500HD Duramax diesel suitable for towing our 27 5L Arctic Fox 5th Wheel trailer. With only 2387 miles on it, the new truck's diesel exhaust system started failing. After multiple failures and unsuccessful attempts to resolve to problems, GM agreed to repurchase the truck and provide us with a nearly identical replacement vehicle. They also agreed to pay for the title/tax, and movement of add-ons to the truck, such as the 5th wheel hitch and running boards. Except for the fact that it took 43 days from the most recent failure, August 29th for the repurchase process to be completed, we feel good about how the problem/resolution was handled. The folks at the dealer (Al Serra Chevy) where we purchased the truck were very responsive and helpful throughout the process. While our first truck was in the shop, multiple times, they provided us with a loaner vehicle, and did everything they could to push the repurchase process forward quickly. Now, we're looking forward to the pleasure of owning and using our new vehicle.
