I'm new here and wanted to contribute my intake mods I did to my old 6.2 round filter setup.
Firstly it never came with a seal between the intake manifold and the bottom of the filter housing. so I bent up the metal locating tab and used a length of 1/4 vacuum tube and use a razor blade to cut it lengthwise down one side, pay attention to not cut yourself and keep the cut straight to ensure an even seal. Make sure the tube is long enough that it touches end to end once you fit it over the lip of the bottom of the housing.

You may have to squeeze it on there or adjust the shape of the housing but it will fit snug, then put your filter in and snug down the lid while keeping pressure so it doesn't come loose while tightening.
Next I found a silicone air filter adapter that fits and flares out to include a bell mouth adapter you could fit an extra intake filter onto In case of dusty or extra dirty environments.

The small end of the silicone adapter is 80mm and the wide side is 105mm.

I never ran it with the second filter as I didn't see the need.
But it sure sounded good and probably has better flow characteristics than a stubby oval inlet by itself.
