View Full Version : gasket material for banks turbo exhaust
Hi,
My gasket between my banks sidewinder turbo and the exhaust down pipe blew out. Is it ok to make my own out of some sort of exhaust gasket material or is the banks gasket special?
Thanks.
Call Banks for the best answer, imho.

Hi
Should be a standard turbo gasket.
Go to any medium/heavy truck shop and they should have one.Or performance shop for diesel pickups.Take your old one to compare.
You could make one out of a sheet of copper if you had to.

Just use high temp silicone and no gasket... if the flange is a little rough, use a large flat file and file it smooth ....

Thanks for your suggestions everyone. I purchased exhaust gasket material bulk from local automotive store and cut one out and is working just fine. Also called Banks and they're sending me one for free. :)
