View Full Version : Springs . .
My springs are basically flat as they sit parked (unloaded) in the driveway, does this mean they are worn out? Can they be re-arched? Probably need new shocks as well as steering stabilizer since they look very old.

Front? Rear? Both? Is the truck level, or does it sag?

My M1009 has 3/4 ton springs in the back and the heavy spring pack in the front from the factory. The regular civilian blazers all seem to ride low in the back end. I have the advantage of living about 30 miles from a spring manufacture so when I need leaf springs I just go there and spec what I want and they make them.
From a welder/fabricator point of view...I would not re-arch them as I don't think you will ever get close to new condition.
IMHO...Put a M1009 spring set in. I really like the way my truck rides.
Bilstien shocks are about the best.
Hope this helps....
Most fronts from this vintage are flat.
Rear should be arched a bit.

Mine are the same.
The front springs are actually inverted by at least an inch if not two, is that normal?
