View Full Version : wet or dry
I'm getting ready to transfer intake manifold, exhaust manifold, and oil pan, from my existing engine onto another long block. I'm going to use permatex the right stuff for the oil pan without gasket (Is that acceptable?). Can I do the same thing with the intake manifold or should I use a gasket dry? What should I use for the exhaust manifold since it gets very hot, gasket with high temp. sealant, sealant only, or just exhaust manifold gasket dry?
Thanks.

The right stuff is the best to use, pan, valve covers... I wouldn't use anything on the intake, only a gasket... The manifolds need to be flat, I use high temp copper sprayon stuff no gasket.. same for the turbo..

Thanks Chris, appreciate your quick response.
