Question no start 03 duramax and I'm stumped
Okay gentalmen and ladies I have a 03 duramax lb7 truck was running fine then just started to not want to crank. So here's what I got not wanting to start but will when it's cold drive it for 5 min and kill it it won't start back till a couple hours go by. Using my ppe xcelerator duramax tuner to read my fuel pressure and injector pressure I'm getting in the 850 range trying to crank on rail pressure and 8.1 on injectors and 14,4 with throttle down trying to crank. That's when the truck has been drove. Now I'm no diesel mechanic but doing my own work replacing parts as they go bad and trying to learn about this truck so if someone could help me out on this it will be much appreciated and if y'all need more info plz ask and I will see if I can get it....not losing prime, no codes, and black smokes when it is running going down the road when foot is on throttle I have had people tell me its my injectors but if it was and injector wouldn't it be showing a different reading???

Loosen the fuel tank filler cap for a 24 hour period to see if that helps.

I have the same year truck and have started seeing the same issue, starts right up with glow plug indicator when cold, if shutdown for a short period of time it is difficult to get running again. What did you find was the issue with yours?

This is most often injector related much like the old 6.5 mechanical pumps that would hard hot start. Let it set and it will start.

I'm not a proponent of ether starting any diesel, but this is how guys get them going when this happens. Be careful though it's easy enough to run away on too much ether.

You are correct, the ether gets it going when this happens. Just hoping for a solution. The truck runs great otherwise

It's time for injectors. We keep them in stock along with the other supporting parts.
