Now I am looking at a 6.2 Chevy. It has 120xxx miles on it for $2300. It is 4x4 but the module went out on it. Whats the average life of the 6.2? Not sure whether id rather have the 6.5 turbo or not...

What year,, model (transition year?), chassis and trim? What "module" went out?

Thanks for the reply. I think he meant the actuator. It is a 1991 Chevy 3500 4X4 extended cab, Cheyenne dually. It has a new transmission, no accidents.
VIN: 2GCHK39J3M1201878

Wow! That's a very good deal. That's about the best year for the 6.2's (should be a 599 block, which is an under-bored 6.5). 120K miles is irrelevant. It should be fine for at least that again, but the truck is worth it, even if you have to rebuild. Lots of possibilities, if it's straight and runs well. Sight unseen, heckofa deal, I think.

Good deal that's what I was hoping to hear. I am going to look at it Saturday and hopefully pick it up. It will be a 'little' different than driving my Dmax LBZ but i wont miss the monthly payment. Ill keep this thread updated. Thanks again

Good luck!
If you can, get there before it's been started. A cold start will give you a real good idea of the general health of the engine, electrical and fuel systems. Give it a shot, and let us know what you find.

Well I went and looked at the truck today and I picked it up, was too good of a deal not too. He was asking $2300 and I offered him 1900 in $100 bills and he took it. I need to fix the tailgate latch, the 4x4 and the windshield wipers (dont work I'm assuming the motor) and that's it. I think I did pretty good. It'll take some getting used to being at around 2300 rpm going 70, not quite like my dmax. Started good on a cold start also.
