View Full Version : Stock 0-60 mph time?
I just clocked my 'burb. 0-60 mph in... 18 seconds
That can't be normal can it? I think it has 3.73 gears. I've got a little over 2000rpm at 65 mph.
What's the factory 0-60 mph time for a -95 K2500 Suburban with 3.73 gears?

Well, been a while since the initial post...
But sometimes takes me a while to get to things, and while this sort of thing goes against my quest for fuel economy, I was in the mood yesterday to blow off some steam,
11.5 seconds 0 - 60 MPH.
Your suburban probably quite heavier, but I would think you would do better than 18.

Maybe Sweden seconds are different than Candian seconds?? :D J/K
My truck did it in 8.9 sec @6100lbs....(U.S. seconds) :D
But its fast. ;)

I checked mine a couple of years ago and it was 15 sec. up a slight grade. I knew the wastegate solinoid was bad and when I changed it, the time went down to about 12. Again, this was a slight uphill. 18 is not normal. My truck was a K2500 reg cab, 8 ft. bed, no load.

A stock Suburban or 2500 truck should do it in about 12 seconds. One with some tweaks should run in under 10. However, the 1994 6.5TD Blazer we owned would run a 0-60 in about 9.5 seconds completely stock (weighed 5300-lbs).
Knowing what the boost pressure and EGT's were would help diagnose a slow truck/Sub.

I may do 1/2 second or so better in 4wd, I don't really want to beat on my OLD truck too much, so one run time was enough for me.
On my run I spooled up to about 2000 and kicked off the brake, spun quite a bit taking off and again on the 1 - 2 shift.
I know these things can rip pretty good with a few dollars on upgrades...
if one was so inclined...

Swedeburb - that time is so slow that unless you know that you are down on power (bad injectors, boost control problems, excessive black or white smoke, plugged cat, ???) that I would be looking at the torque converter or even transmission slippage as culprits.
If you are making even normal OEM power it must be disappearing somewhere...
Nice to see this thread come to life after a couple of months of hibernation smile.gif
I'll make some more runs in a couple of days and see where I'm at in 0-60 performance now. I had just bought the truck when I got my 18sec time. I'll make sure to take notes on boost and EGT readings this time around.

When I checked my 97 in 1999 it would do 13 sec from and idle and stepping on it. I have never tied getting the turbo spooled up before going it may drop the time some.
