Welcome to the new Chevy Cruze Diesel forum.

GM has added a new Diesel engine brand to their lineup, and this is it. I ordered one (daily driver for my wife), and took delivery of it on December 17, 2013. A very nice early Christmas gift. Two weeks and about a thousand miles into ownership, and the car continues to be very impressive (for a car), and certainly worthy of its own forum on The Diesel Page. I'll update our experiences, good or bad, as the time and miles go by. I look forward to other's experiences and questions, as well.

This is it:

Thanks Greg!

I hope the Cruze is the beginning of a wave here in the U.S. for all domestic car/truck manufacturers. Jim

Greay Idea!
I bought one about 3 months ago. How I know is my free XM ran out today.
I'll wait a few weeks and they will offer a decent deal.

Thanks for giving us a voice!

I also have had one for 3 months now. After 4500 miles I have found nothing not to like at all. I really like the fact that my fuel savings over my 6.6 makes the payment!!

What are the mileage results you Cruze owners have seen?

As with any vehicle and/or driver, YMMV. Cruze Diesel EPA rated estimates are very easily attained, and often difficult to "bust", in our case. I usually leave the discussion there, as the details start sounding like a fairy tale.

The mileage difference in the same car and essentially the same mixed-driving routes, will vary 5-10% between me and my wife. It's always been that way with several vehicles over the years. With only 7K miles on the car, I think it's still early to establish a good mileage trend, but so far, mileage reports have been nothing short of ridiculous to unbelievable. On a recent trip she took with the car full of passengers and luggage to San Diego (I didn't go), the highway-only mileage never dropped below 50 MPG average over 700 miles. The city driving while there was 38. The trip computer makes it easy to track, and can be watched remotely via PC or the RemoteLink (Onstar) app. It's very detailed and accurate. I quit the pencil/paper calculations some time ago, due to its accuracy.

The car was at the dealer last week for its first service. I'll update with full details in a day or so.

Sorry Jim. I've been wanting to post an update, but I was waiting for something new to report. This is just one boring effing car, for me. My wife still loves it. It hasn't broken, quit, coughed or stumbled. 11,000 miles, today. I'll do a more detailed update soon, but it may not be any more exciting than this. I've added some accessories, and I'll show them at that time. I'm happy to answer any questions you have, though.

At 18K I have averaged 47.2 mpg. As high as 52 on freeway trips . I do not spare the pedal at all. I really love it.

No problems at all.

Took my cruze on a 200 mile freeway drive.
Cruise set at about 60 mph.
Dic said 69 miles/gal(imperial).
Will be taking a trip in Sept, about 1800 miles
for round trip.
Will post results on return.
So far my only complaint is the black black interior.

The diesel version certainly looks to be a winner, from a mileage perspective. I recently drove a gasser version for a couple of weeks. Low to mid 30s for fuel mileage was great compared to my '01 DMax with the LB7. However, the low ground clearance causes problems in winter, especially when you catch a small mound of snow/ice as you're backing out of a driveway (rubbed the paint off of the rocker panel and slightly sprung it outward while rocking it free- fortunately, it was a dealership car). A shoe horn to help get my big arss in/out of the car would've helped too. Otherwise, not too bad.
