Hello guys. I've got a 1993 GMC G3500 Vandura 6.2l diesel. I swapped out the mechanical fuel lift pump for an electronic pump and all is well. However, when (for some reason) I had the bleeder valve plug (resides on top of fuel filter mount housing) off I guess I lost the o-ring that was on there.....if there was one. http://www.gm-trucks.com/forums/public/style_emoticons/default/dunno.gif I've asked around but no one can find anything about an o-ring .....and some can't even find info about the bleeder valve plug! I tried using Permatex's Permashield Fuel Resistant Gasket Dressing & Flange Sealant (http://www.permatex.com/products-2/product-categories/gasketing/gasket-sealants/permatex-permashield-fuel-resistant-gasket-dressing-flange-sealant-detail) applied to both the underside of the plastic plug and to the mating surface of the filter housing after cleaning both parts with Acetone. It didn't leak until I took the truck for a spin and got the engine up to temp. I removed the plug, cleaned the area with acetone again and the time really glopped it on. Put the plug back in and glopped more on. I'm waiting for it to cure overnight now and will see tomorrow how it goes. So is there supposed to be an o-ring on the bleeder valve plug and if so, anyone have any idea of the part # or if it's flat, round, whatever? Thanks.

welcome to the forum,.
maybe look at swapping the factory filter for an aftermarket raycor,. ?
there's a thread in the 6.5 section about that,.

Thanks. I wasn't looking to swap the filter but maybe that's the best way... I'll take a look into that.

I do not think there is an o-ring, I believe there is a rubber bottom to that bleed screw, and it has lost its flex, replacing the whole plug from a dealer, is an option too.
