I haven't been posting here much about my current project by taught an update would be in order.

When I last posted on here the plans for the project was to drop a 6.2 and 700R4 into a 1975 Toyota FJ40 Land Cruiser. After a little research and driving my class C 21' motor home with a 6.2 and th400 realized that the 6.2 was a little under powered for what I wanted to do. After quite a bit of talking with Bill (convert2diesel) the plans changed over to getting a center mount turbo 6.5 (I couldn't fit a passenger side turbo for lack of room).

A call was made to Jamie at the Diesel Depot with the hopes he could build something for me. What I ended up with was the following:

BASE ENGINE
Remanufactured Rear Turbo Long-block

INTERNAL UPGRADES
Balanced Rotating Assembly
Coated Piston Crowns
ARP Cylinder Head Studs

EXTERNAL UPGRADES
Complete Rear Turbo Kit (w/ Reman Turbo)
Paint GM Corporate Blue
Ceramic Coat Exhaust Manifolds and Turbo Housing
6.5L Turbo Injectors
6.5L Turbo Arctic Injector Pump (Reman)
60G Glow Plugs
Glow Plug Wiring Harness
Fluidampr
Complete Serpentine Kit (early style with pass. Side a.c compressor)

The project is a lot further ahead then in the pic. I'm hoping to get it running in the next couple of weeks.

Here's a link to the complete build thread on IH8MUD: http://forum.ih8mud.com/40-55-series-tech/182303-my-75-fj40-build-up-thread.html

Here's a link to youtube of Diesel Depot starting the engine for the first time: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UAJUv546AEA

Hopefully you let me pick your brain's as I try to get this thing on the road once and for all.

Took a quick look - looks great!

That's the one disadvantage of MUD - there are so many sub-forums that it is hard to even find all the projects people are doing that you might be interested in.

I'll have to go back when I have some more time to check out the whole thread.

Edit to Kevins build sheet.

The long block is a certified, original AMG diamond block, military take out.

You guys have to see the work Kevin does. Certainly has some serious chops when it comes to fabrication, design and attention to detail.
