I have a 1978 K5 Blazer with a 350 in it and I am still deciding whether or not I want to do a 6.2L swap or a 6.5L. I am trying to see what it will take to do the 6.5L swap? I primarily don't want to have to add a computer. NO COMPUTERS!!!

Welcome aboard!
The early 6.5's, 92 and 93, were mechanical. No computer required. Even if you land an EFI 6.5, it's easily converted to mechanical. If you don't want a computer, you don't have to have one with either engine.

Also, there's no smog inspections for Diesels prior to 1998, so you'll be off the hook for that once you have it reclassified. Just don't tell them if you source a 1998 or later engine.

the last question is the fuel pump mechanical for a 6.5L out of a 97 truck or is it electric? because that is all the motor is missing.

Electric...but it can be converted easily. basically all you need is the mechanical pump and the instructions....found here.
