Own the same truck long enough and it's bound to happen sooner or later. Given enough time and miles, every Duramax will eventually need new injectors. This 2001 LB7 GMC now has 105,000 miles on it.

Today was different in that the "Service Engine Soon" lamp illuminated for the first time since I don't know when. Checking the stored trouble codes revealed:

P0094 - Fuel System Small Leak Detected
P0302 - Cylinder #2 Fuel Rate out of Spec

Resetting the troublecodes allowed the engine to start and run normally, and it did so without setting codes again for a short 15 mile town trip.

I've noticed over the past couple of years that the engine idles a little rougher than it once did. I attributed this to a widening injector fuel rate or a growing disparity in fuel atomization among the 8 injectors.

Time for a set of injectors... :(

My 2006 LBZ has 125,000 on it and up until this year I had only replaced 3 glow plugs. As the weather turned cooler here last week I had two fail in the same week. Oh well, 5 in 7 years isn't too bad.

Yeah Jim it's sad, but we all know you've run the wheels off that poor thing in order to rack up over 100k in 13 years :D
