I started getting typical lift pump failure hints: slight stumble on hard accel, etc.
Pump was not running when the enigne was runing. Checked voltage at the pump, engine running and read 13 plus volts. Tested pump off the vehicle with a separate battery and it did not run. Replaced it. Still no pump. Still had good voltage at the pump. Bypassed the OPS and the pump ran. Replaced OPS (was less than a year old.) Everything just fine now.

I'm assuming the pump current draw as it was failing loused up the contacts in the OPS. Curious if anyone has had a similar experience.

That is why some run a relay between the OPS and the pump. Takes the load off the contacts.

Or a complete harness to take over control completely and get prime at key up plus manual activation.

I installed an LED light in my dash on my K3500 so I would know the pump is getting power.

I installed the harness that Kennedy is refering to and have been very happy with it.
