View Full Version : vssb settings wanted
Hi,
I'm Back after several years
I need the VSSB settings for 1995 Suburban. It's in the The 6.5L Turbo Diesel - 1997-2000 Volume, but I'm in the middle of a moving job, and everything is in boxes...
Does anyone have the possibility to help?
Best regards,

From the 1999 Feature Articles
Example: for a tire circumference of 79.49" and a 4.10 axle ratio. (note 633360 is the number of inches in a mile)
On edit: The way to find rolling tire circumference,multiply tire height (in inches) by 3.14(pi)
Also you can mark tire and floor where it's sets then roll one revolution, measure distance.
DIVIDE RATIO=[(63360/79.49)x4.10x40]/4000
DIVIDE RATIO=32.680
Using the above DIVIDE RATIO, we see that the closet match in the following chart is 32.719 with a corresponding jumper setting of 11000010111100. The "ones" indicate a jumpered connection,and the "zeros" indicate an open connection.
This is what I used with a 4.10,tires 225-85-16 jumper code,10110101010010 DIVIDE RATIO= 26.17
If I know your divide ratio I could give you the jumper settings.
Hear are a few that may be close.
24.459=11100101011000
25.016=10010101010110
25.584=11010101010100
26.172 above
26.469=01110101010001
Jumper code,long list ;)

Also if you have not done this before,the VSSB is in the glove box,should be a 14 pin jumper block near the bottom edge.You'll see where some are open and others are jumpered. Some I cut to open and some I needed to solder a wire in.
The VSSB is a white thin box that can be opened.

I like that :D
Downloaded it to my files.
I just might have to do this. My set up,I see where I'll gain 1/10th of a mile every 6 miles traveled, by way of interstate mile markers. If I go one step the other way then the OD shows less miles traveled.

Please review the TDP Copyright (http://www.thedieselpage.com/copyrite.htm) policy.
In an effort to maintain editorial balance and credibility, we don't sell parts or products (though we certainly and easily could). "Information" is what we offer.
There are quite a few web sites that give their meager content away, while pushing parts and products. We tend to approach the situation from the other direction, and place a higher value on content, which I thinks benefits everyone more in the long run (motivation to provide a continuous stream of higher quality content).
Thanks,
Jim
