What is the cause for the Duramax injector failure? I have a 2003 2500HD with 135K miles that has light white smoke. The dealership claimed the injectors are failing. I didn’t get a good answer for a cause or if the problem will reoccur with the replacement injectors. My concern is reinvesting back into the same design and getting the same premature result.
The truck was maintained and the fuel was mostly supplied from a local bulk dealer. I always used the OEM fuel filter and it was changed once a year (average <15K miles).
I should have been more suspicious when the dealership volunteered to do the “free” fuel filter change.
