I shutdown my truck after driving 200 miles , when I returned 15 min later the batteries were completely drained resulting in a tow truck drive to GM dealer. The tech, said it was caused by glowplug control module failure. I was told this is a special order item and had to wait 5 days for repair.

Has anyone experienced glow plug module failure? What other damage can happen?

I have had a couple of glow plugs go out early on, but never the module. Doesnt sound all that common. The glow plugs, at least in Ca, I believe are considered to be part of the emissions control system, and should be covered. Not certain on the module.
