Help needed

hi,

I have built a defender 110 with a 6.5L. Had a hard time last summer figuering out the cables and alarm. But got it running in perfect order. Then I started a full restauration of the defender, from scratch. Connected all the cables, now the security light stays on, engine cranks fires up and dies... Did I miss a wire??

Any suggestions are welcome,

the donor vehicle is a 2000 army base postal van.
I've attached some pictures for you to see.

there are no fault codes in the ecm, the 10 and 30 min reset procedure don't work...

Hi,

Did a lot of searching on the net to find a wiring diagram of the passlock system. Found it! It was the fuse for the gauges that was blown, the passlock gets the 12v supply from here aswel.

Will show the car in running action,

Can you tell me have this type of engine is commonly called? This version with the rear turbo I don't see often on the web..

The version found in the vans has a different configuration than that found in the rest of the trucks.

It's called a "center mount" , there is a difference in the intake bolt angle, center mount- 60* / side mount - 90* ..

Your Defender looks fantastic. You did a very professional job of installing the motor and accessory drives. There is only one thing I see that I do not agree with. I would replace the copper brake lines with steel. I would hate to see a copper brake line fail and cause an accident that would damage your beautiful Defender. Great job!!!!

Could be that the lines are made from this material:
http://catalog.fmsiinc.com/viewitems/brake-lines/cupro-nickel-brake-lines?

It is the very best brake line available and is almost impossible to distinguish from copper-it is not even magnetic.

To the OP congrats on a great job-I would strongly urge you to relocate the PMD to an area outside the engine bay though.
