Took delivery on my 2013 Durmax/Allison the end of Nov. 2012. I was wondering what fuel mileage others were getting. I have about 1200 miles on it so far and have not pulled the 5th wheel yet. A trip from Denver to Colorado Springs, running empty, netted 20.3 MPG. Around town I am getting about 15. Hope to see it come up a little bit.
I really hate the TWO emission systems. Seems like a lot of overkill.
Thanks for any responses.

I now have 2000 miles on my 2013 2500HD and mileage is around 14mpg in town and 21mpg on the highway. No issues so far with the DEF system even when it went below zero for a few evenings. I do use Stanadyne fuel additives religiously, the performance formula down to 10 degrees and the winterizer below 10 degrees. Used these products on my 2008 Duramax which has 150,000 miles and no issues what so ever.
Good luck with your new truck!

My 2009 LMM has 160K miles and will do 18-20 empty, which is a rare occasion.
Usually its pulling a 3K# empty trailer, or 14-16K# with the boat on. For the last 120K, my overall average mileage is 11.2 all combined usage, including winter snow plowing which is a real MPG average killer.
I treat with Howes, tend to dose it a little heavier than it calls for, but I don't use it in every tank. I'd estimate 25% treated - I tend to buy a jug and then treat 3-5 in a row, then go a few weeks without. Makes sense to me, as a cleanup routine.
