Hi!

I have some troubles with my -96 K1500. 50k miles. It stalls and i have to bleed the injectors and fuel filter to get it going. Seams like it only happens when the fuel-guage is down to 1/4.(not empty) I could heard that some vacuum disapered when I removed the fuelcap, is that normal? Is the fueltank open to the atmospher or is there some kind of valv in between? Or can it have something to do with the liftpump? Recently had a new IP on waranty=)

Sounds like your fuel cap is either faulty or incorrect.

The cap is supposed to allow air in as the fuel is used. I've seen tanks come in imploded from vacuum.

Get yourself a new correct cap, not any old generic one and you should be good to go.

Bleeding the injectors should not be necessary. I'd first investigate the condition/operation of the lift pump, and then the lines/tank.

The cap can and will hold vacuum under certain conditions. This is normal. I doubt that anything is wrong there.

Mine always has a little vacuum when I remove it. Just a little- enough to hear.
