Brochure I received in the mail includes three 1998, regular cab, longboxs with aux fuel tanks and tool boxes. Some other 'non-running' 6.5s are also listed. Website info doesn't match mailing brochure.

Anyone close by interested in inspecting some of these rigs?

I called the local number. Here's what he says they have with 6.5's in 'em.

93 3500 dually 5 spd 163000
98 2500 4x4 129000
98 2500 2x4 120000
98 2500 2x4 97000+
97 2500 2x4 135000

No maintenance or repair history is available. Vehicles can be viewed 9 to 4.

I may be able to take a look at these but I'm not planning a trip to Omaha at this time (about a 2 hour drive for me).

I wonder what these will bring on the auction? Any guess?

I wonder what these will bring on the auction? Any guess? I'd guess ~4500 to ~6500 for the 97/98's, depending on condition. The '93 might fetch 3K if its clean.

Its such a crapshoot buying these trucks used...if they have been overheated its simply not worth it - at any price.

I'm in Omaha and could probably drive by there early next week and snap a few digital pics. Anything in particular that interests anyone?

I used to drive heavy truck for construction, I wouldn't be terribly excited about buying a foreman's pickup truck or someone's work truck. But what the heck, you might find a deal!

Let me know of anything in particular that interests you, otherwise I'll snap a few pics of each truck. Not sure what else I'd be able to tell about them except for visual inspection of the exterior.

Thanks for the offer, Bob.

I am interested in the '98 4x4. A closeup picture under the hood, of the interior, the bed, left/right/front/back would be great if you get a chance.

Thanks!

I stopped by to look at those trucks today. My first impression: I am not impressed.

Here's the link to the pics, hope I did all that right. http://community.webshots.com/user/bmiszuk These pictures are of one of the 2wd Chevy diesel trucks. I just picked one at random and snapped a bunch of pictures.

The bulk of pickups are 2wd Chevy's with a couple odds'n'ends thrown in. Unfortunately I did not pay close attention to your request and was looking for a 98 4x4 Chevy (I think you wanted the Ford, right?). The only two 4x4 Chevy's that were 4x4 were entirely trashed. One of them was missing engine, the other was missing front right fender and had body damage all down the left side (from front to rear). These are parts trucks only.

The row of pickup trucks (see pics) are all 2wd. Virtually all of them showed evidence of heavy use. Generally speaking, all seats were tore up on drivers side, drivers doors were sagging, tires were bad, boxes were beat, and several were showing rust-through. While I was looking around there were some guys trying to start an S10 using starting fluid. They were not having much success but didn't seem to stop them from pumping starting fluid into it.

It's my opinion only, but if I was looking for a pickup I would look elsewhere. These trucks have been used very very hard.

The Ford diesel that was there looked better than most of the other trucks. Probably was the boss's truck or something (thought it still had a tore up seat). If you're still interested, I could go back and snap pics of it.

Bob.

Thanks for taking your time to do this. I agree, they look WELL used.

They'll likely get parted out...next weeks used Ebay parts from a '...lightly used midwestern truck' ;)

It actually seems to be some of the worst possible conditions for a truck. Driven in dusty construction sites, hauling dirty stuff around, ridden in city traffic all its life by someone who does not own the truck himself and therefore probably cares less about caring for the truck than getting the job done.

I called a friend of mine who has his own excavation company to ask if he wanted to go look with me at the trucks and equipment. He said no. Since M&S went bankrupt he figured there'd be a lot of "deferred maintenance" on their stuff. I can't speak to the heavy equipment, but these pickups were beat to death. The pictures don't do it justice.

Glad I could help out. I almost missed your post, being a 6.2 guy myself but I just happened to be browsing the 6.5 forum for some reason!

Later,

Bob.
