Our Yukon (2007) has rain sensor wipers. They are next to useless. No matter what setting we put them on they are either not sweeping nearly frequently enough or are on constantly. Does anyone know if there is either an update to make them work properly, or a way to make them work like normal interval wipers?

TIA

I hate sensor wipers. When I worked as a Tech for Ford, folks would bring them in complaining all the time. Worthless pieces of junk, because they take moisture readings from one spot on the windshield, so they almost run constantly or not at all.

I haven't tried this with the Envoy my wife has, (which has these stupid sensor wipers) but on the Ford/Lincoln's if you unplugged the sensor (yours should be by the rear view mirror) they would default to working like normal intermittent wipers do. Which I prefer. I haven't played with the wife's as I hardly drive her SUV and never think about it.

There is no fix, at least not that I'm aware of and no car I've driven (and I've driven lots of foreign jobs as well) that has automatic wipers works properly.

My ex has a 2010 Nissan Murano with sensor wipers and they work perfectly. It is amazing how well they do work.

I have wondered where and how the sensor works. Does any know on this model? I would suspect the top center where the rear view mirror is located, but then I really have no clue.
