I'm at a loss here. Help please?

Ok, so I'm new to this page, I had a 6.5TD in my 97 K3500 for a period, loved it. Anyways, I'm putting a 6.2 diesel into my 1979 Jeep Cherokee Chief. (Off-road use) and the one I got my hands on has a bad connecting rod. I ordered a reman one on ebay, but it says 6.2 / 6.5 and from what I've been told by a few parts places is the connecting rods between the two engines are different.
Can anyone verify this or disprove it? Also, anyone know where I can get parts for these engines? It seems there are few around me, if any.

They're the same rod between the two

Almost everything will swap over, rods are the same. Some early motors used a 2 piese crank seal / different crank, same rods.

A look through post here will give you different places for parts....

In the late 91 to 1993 engines, the crank had been changed to the one piece rear main seal, and the only real difference was the bore diameter.

The 6.5 has a slightly larger bore is all.

The crank, rods and nearly everything else is the same.

Your good to go.
