Monday night out of town crew headed home, hit the on ramp for 81 South and motor shuts down. Changed fuel filter and get running but with low power. End up hauling it to shop on RGN.
Rpm stops at 2250 ,low power, coast down hill to upshift, add any fuel and trans downshifts. No codes or lights, trans fluid qt. low.
Any ideas?

Just to follow up we found the PTO switch fliped on but not enough to turn the little light on in the switch. They had three men in front seat and the switch must have been bumped going up the ramp.
Two days of fooling with it and the local GMC service manager walks in for something else, looks at it and says what about a PTO. The driver says no PTO but it has a switch and flips it. Problem solved.

Thanks for getting back to us with the answer to your problem. Not many medium-duty trucks out there, relative to the pickup trucks.

You think a pickup is hard to work on try a 4500 or 5500. The same fuel filter is mounted on the left side behind steering shaft and right over transmission dip stick tube.
Add to that most of the wiring harness runs across it.

Did the same thing with my C4500, months after owning it. Did the same thing - pulled over, changed the fuel filter, got back in, no change...then...
