hey guys.... a friend at work has a 98 cc 4x4 that started to get a real bad noise. he said that it started with a ticking sound almost like a lifter and then went away. later on it changed to a loud chatter. this only happens when your not on the throttle. idling it is so loud you would think that the pistons going to come shooting out. strange thing is that the moment you apply any throttle, it goes away completly. he said that there was no loss of power or any miss. tryed taking off the belt hoping it was vac pump or alt bearings, but its still there. this sound is not a knocking one but a grind like there is NO oil insise and everythings grindind. lots of oil and pressure. poor guy needs to get it back on the road. any help would be great!!
