2012 Faster Idle

2012 K3500 HD Duramax. Normal idle seems to be about 650 RPM. Occasionally it idles faster at about 850 RPM. Is this the emission high idle to burn off particulates, etc.? But I thought I read the higher idle is 1200 RPM or so. Will appreciate any input.

Normal idle is around 700 I believe and yes it will idle up when in regen mode.

Not having the regen issues with my truck, thank goodness, I thought regen couldn't happen unless the truck was moving above a certain speed across the ground?

I've noticed when I come to a stop that sometimes it's idling higher. Not a lot, 850 vs 650 RPM. None of my previous Duramax trucks (2001,2003,2005) did that. Just trying to figure it out. Love the increased power, a 6th gear, the exhaust brake, quiet engine fan, and smooth ride for a 1 ton dually. This is a GREAT truck.
