What tire pressure do you 3500HD dually owners run when unloaded? Had 2500 HDs before and ran 50 psi all the way around when unloaded. Ran 50 front and 72 rear when towing my 5th wheel. Those were LT245/75R16 and I routinely would get 80K miles on Michelins. These are Michelin M/S 2, size being 235/80R17. Tire placard on door recommended 65psi cold front and rear unloaded. Seems high, especially for rear since it's a dually.

I always keep the fronts hard. 70-80 psi The weight never goes away on the front. Mine right now are 80 all around and I don't mind it. I might drop down a bit in winter to help with grip a little, but seldom drop below 70.

With duals in rear I suppose you could drop a bit, BUT that nagging TPMS is going to get upset unless you have it adjusted.

Thx, John. Gonna play with the rears a bit.

My guess is that 65 is about the minimum that you can get away with before the TPMS starts to nag but I could be wrong.

How the tires wear is a good indicator for how much pressure to run. My experience with a 2500HD is 70-front and 60-rear when driving unloaded, and 70-psi all around when towing. This produces a flat wear across the tread.

Under-inflated fronts will wear more on the shoulders. Over-inflated rears will wear more on the centers. JK's smokey burnouts could change the wear patterns too.... ;)

Empty I dropped the rear duals to 56ps1. Still standing firm w/just a bit of expansion at the bottom. Not as much as the fronts at 70 psi. Rode better. I will monitor for wear. TPMS is not going off.

65 front, 70 rear is where I usually set them.
