What year did GM start using an internal clutch slave cylinder(inside bell housing)?I`m wondering if it coincided with switch to solid flywheel. When I converted my`92 to solid,it required changing parts in the trans.I`m looking at converting my`95 now and want to go the simplest route.

It did not coincide. My '96 has an internal slave, and came with a DMF. I think '96 is possibly the first year for internal. (Is your '95 external??)
I'm sticking with my previous story that 2000 is the first year for SMF.

Yes,my`95 is external.I`m now being told by speed shop the same clutch will work.Tearing into it later today.I may find DMF ok,clutch coming apart.I`ll give results for those who may care.

Just as an FYI, late '96 or early '97 was the switch to SMF... My '97 has it.
