6.2 losing power

My 83 6.2 seems like its losing power, and it seems to be smoking more on the passenger side. I have a feeling my injectors are tired, but my truck has sat for years and I've heard the pumps don't handle that well. I'm planning on rebuilding the injectors when I get some spare change, but is there a way to check the pump and injectors before I tear everything apart? Would it help to take the injectors apart and cleaning them?

Not necessarily injectors.

Research EGR if you've got a light-duty 6.2 (update your signature and let us know what you have for a rig).

Ensure you have a good clean fuel filter (or filters in your case, replace the secondary filter first).

Also the air filter.

Sorry, I have a non-EGR 6.2. It seems like its got a tick too. kinda sounds like lifter chatter.
