599. Same as the early 6.5's. Both are interchangeable, with the difference being the bore dia.
Mike,
Check this out, it might help.

The 6.2 started showing up with the one piece rear main seal late in 91 and continued through the 93 model year.
What you need is the Julian date code.
The problem is that unless you can measure the cylinder bore its almost impossible to tell if its a 6.2 or 6.5
On the front of the RH cyl bank area by the turbo oil feed port there can be found either 6.2 LTR or 6.5 LTR cast there.
Many of the 599 blocks will have the 6.2 OR 6.5 notations
One tid bit here.
The cranks are interchangable between the 6.2 and 6.5 with the one piece rear main.
so are the rods and all the bearings.
The Pistons weigh the same too.
GM had this figured out to make things easier for production and assembly
All the other parts will swap.
The one difference would be the precups used in the NA 6.2 vs the Turbo 6.5
The precups were also changed subject to emissions requirements where the vehicle was being sold.

GM sold tens of thousands of the 6.2L "599" for use in Postal vans and related applications here in the U.S., some found their way into 1991 model year Suburbans (with the new 4L80-E) and many more tens of K's of non-turbo 6.2Ls were sold in 1500 series pickup trucks in Canada.
The Diesel Depot acquired dozens/hundreds of 599 6.2L postal takeouts about 10 years ago. Don't know if there are any left. I do know that they bored many of them out to std 6.5 bore without a problem - as far as I know. Jim
