I have access to an hx35 turbo so I've been doing some research. I've found several threads where people installed them, but I can't find anywhere that talks about any difference. My truck will mostly just be a daily driver, with the heaviest thing I will ever haul is another vehicle on a trailer. My engine is a 93, with the stock GM4. There is no play in the shaft, and there's not any reason to swap out the turbo. Is it worth it?

There's an old saying, "If it ain't broke, don't fix it." (or is it, "If it ain't broke, fix it 'til it is.")?

yeah I know, but these diesels are damned addictive. I haven't even driven it yet. I just see all this inexpensive stuff to do.

From what I have seen on different forums, the HX35 is a great daily driver turbo and works well for light duty towing.

I don't have any knowledge with them myself, there is a new write up in the paid section here about them and it goes into great detail about that turbo.

If you are a paid member go to this link....

Yeah I read that. All it really says is that they're a good turbo for a 6.5. I'm looking some one with some actual experience.

I've spoken to/interviewed several 6.5 owners who are running an HX-35W. I may be able to help answer questions... Jim

Ok, are the performance gains enough to swap out a perfectly good gm4? Whats gonna be the felt difference?
