hey everyone im changing my injector pump. do i need any special tools
to remove lines from the pump or does the turbo and all the lines
have to come loose. thanks for any tips
98 chevy 6.5 turbo 4x4 auto 170000 miles

Just remove the lines from the IP and loosen the lines at the injectors and the clamps on the valve covers and all should be fine. Shouldn't need to remove them, just have them loose to move out of the way, and you know that you will need to remove the intake.

The use of a CROW FOOT and a 3/8 breaker bar makes getting the lines off the IP a snap.
Remove the lines and keep the little clamps that keep the lines in pairs as they are.
The lines are oriented with 1-3 5-7 2-4 6-8 in pairs
keep them that way and make a little map of how they come off the IP

A little tape to number them and a couple picturs make life easy.
This military manual has a lot of good info on the 6.2/6.5 along with a picture of the IP and the orientation of the injector lines as clocked on the IP:
