I think some one put the wrong injectors in my 1987 6.2 sub. they are 0430 211 097 372-3 973 are these for a 6.2? or a 6.5 NA .. how do you tell the difference?

Hi
I'm sure that someone will tell you what you have by the number. But as long as your pump is healthy it dosn't matter.I have 6.5 turbo injectors in my 6.2 NA and it runs fine,i have a military 6.2 pump, both have less than 20K on them.
Are you having some issues that makes you think the injectors are at fault?

Lot's of help on this forum.

the rebuilder put a 6.5 turbo injector pump with these short 6.5 injectors . the engine ran real strong but black smoke real bad on acceleration and poor fuel milage.. so I am putting a rebuilt 6.2 I/P on and was going to change the injectors to a new set of long injectors. with POP of 2000psi. I was hoping this combo would get better fuel milage. but it sounds like I could keep these short 6.5 injectors and it would run ok.. I just wanted to know if they made a difference if the short 6.5 injectors could be used for NA and Turbo

The 6.5L pump is a better pump. You can turn back the fuel screw or place a block under the skinny pedal (same result as replacing with a lower volume pump). If you're seeing black smoke, you stomped to hard. Back off until you get no smoke, and it's back in the economy range.
