I like it!How does she run? It`s a good time of year to find out.Are you thinking about adding a shroud behind it to keep more of the"rammed"air?

Looks very trick! I like the stainless! How 'bout some type of easily removable screen in front to keep big bugs/debris out of filter?

Ive since added another piece of sheet metal on top to box it off. I cant tell any power increase. It does sound real good when your rpms are up and you let off of it"wooosh". I would add a screen(as I did my grille) but since its behind the headlights I doubt ill catch much.

Looks great! A lot simpler than the one I'm working on! You've given me an idea that should solve one of my issues. Thanks. smile.gif

My idea has been to cut a hole in the right fender, mount a grill(KW T300),and pull air directly into`97-up air box.Although, now,I may use this method.

wadda ya think about this? I was pondering doing it if I could figure out something for the turn signals. maybe mounting them above the opening so you wouldnt see the bulb when it flashes

Try placing the screen over the opening in the main bulkhead. Forward vehicle motion will create pressure front across entire frontal area - any opening will be path for that pressurized flow.

Good idea - has to work better than original, if filter element has equivalent\greater filtration area.

What is the procedure for air filter cleaning\replacement?

I found the filter at autozone for 25 I think. Im not sure on the quality of it considering it is a gimmicy one at best. Maybe I can find a better one that could fit in there.

The K&N website has size applications and one of their filters would fit I bet. What I've been thinking is removing the turn signals on both sides and putting in screened vents on both sides. Passenger's side for air intake and placing a remote FSD on a heatsink behind the driver's side, then finding/making a grill cover to dress it up. Then mount the turn signals behind the grills so the only time you see them is when they are illuminated.

I was looking to do something similar, however I was going to take out the airbox and stick the cone inside the fender opening. then build a box with heatshield around the outside of it. Working on th 4 " exhaust this weekend and hopefully the intake next weekend. Keep us posted.

It would seem that installing the screen(s) would help even with a stock airbox & filter because of where the air intake for the stock setup is located. A cone, with less twists to the turbo makes it all the better. The screens look great! As soon as I finish a couple of projects this will be next. Keep the pics coming.
