Not sure what its called but the crossmember that the rear of the torsion bars attach to has broken off both sides. Its just hanging there by the torsion bars. Dealer wants 2
$240+ tax and labor and several days to order. I'm thinking of pulling it off and having my buddy the welder repair it. Anything i need to know? I think i can just pull it off and leave the torsion bars hooked up front. Its just hanging there now. Truck even drives ok. (not driving it after I found the problem but made it home). Any advice is appreciated.

I've never heard of a torsion bar cross member breaking - on one side or both. How did that happen?
