Truck Bed oiling Caps?

Hi I was just curious to know...at the rear of the truck behind the rear wheels on both driver and passenger side there looks like plastic caps that have rotted and are falling out of their place i was told these were access ports for oiling the truck box? anyone care to share the info on them? should i be looking to replace these ASAP? thanks for your help

I will take a stab at it, if you mean the two plastic thingabobs under the bed at the end of the 1/4 panel's I think they are just splash guards. One of mine is hanging loose and the other is still intact (on my 1993) It probabaly wouldn't be a bad idea to replace them if they are broken.
