Any experience towing a 2500HD "4 on flat"?

I have a desire to tow my 2001 2500HD home form a couple jobsites (500mi one way) behind my dually. I have had good luck with this method with my 2500 Dodge by putting the transfer case in nuetral. I would like to have the flexibility to use my Duramax in the same way. Any thoughts on this? Unlock the steering wheel,put transfer case in nuetral and go?

The towbar and lights look easy enough....

4x4 in neutral is fine. It'll work like all the rest. You don't have to "unlock" the steering wheel, since it doesn't lock with the key off/out.

2wd, on the other hand, requires drive shaft disconnect for towing any more than a block or two.
