I have a 2008 crew cab long bed, 4x4 4' lift and 33 X 12.5 tires, Diesel/Allison. I go Deer and elk hunting in the winter so there is some mud/snow and hills, I also pull a 12000lb toy hauler in the sand. No other 4x4ing other than mentioned.

I want to install an Eaton E-locker and the local guy said that he wouldn't install an E-locker in these trucks because the aluminum from diff cannot handle the torque and it would break the housing. Has anyone seen or heard of this being a problem?

Thanks

My 2002 is well across 1000RWHP and I truck pull with it. I have never had an issue with the front.

Thanks for the info, do you run a front E-locker or air locker? do you have a preference? Are there steering problems when engaged?

I run the Eaton units. Having a front locker is great until you want to turn. Be sure to unlock before you try to steer anything more than just a nudge as it can get bound up pretty tight if you forget and try to turn.
