One of the trucks running a fair bit of power in this months Diesel Power magazine is running dual electric fans. Would this be better at controlling heat while towing?

IIRC the factory fan moves a LOT more air, but costs a few horses to do it.

A performance truck running 300 or 1,320 feet might do fine with electrics. If you have a load on, you'll be choking 2 miles up a 5 mile grade. The electrics move only about 1/2 the air an engine driven fan can, when it's needed. An electric auxiliary fan, on the other hand, can be very helpful at slower speeds, like driving surface streets or winding mountain roads.
