Anyone know of a cheap fix for the cheesy brittle plastic radiator top tube?
I replaced the hose yesterday only to realize that there's not enough meat left of the plastic tube to get a good seal on.
Does anyone make some kind of metal thimble insert that I could epoxy in ? (I thought about trying a tomato paste can.)

Otherwise... does anyone know/recommend where I can get an all metal radiator?
Are there any upgrades I should consider while swapping out the radiator?

Thanks,

Have the radiator repaired. Most any radiator shop can do it, and it doesn't cost much. I had one done 2 years ago, and the cost was about $60. One tank replaced and the core cleaned. The other tank, if needed, would have been $30 more. A new (quality) radiator, of any type, would have cost 3-4X that. The aluminum/plastic radiators are no worse than the traditional all metal types. In my experience, they have been less trouble and less expensive to maintain, all things, and time, considered. Repair the tube? No. Wasted effort, in my experience. Been there. Done that.
