6.2/6.5 Crank Help

Will a 1994- 6.5 crank work in or is it the same as a 6.2 crank ?

The 6.5 cranks use a 1-piece rear main seal while the earlier 6.2's use a 2-piece seal. I don't know for sure if there is any cross over between the two (i.e. 6.2 blocks with 1-piece or 6.5 blocks with 2-piece). You cannot interchange cranks between one- and two-piece seal designs. The 94-95 6.5 should be a 1-piece design.

The 599 blocks were the same casting for both, 6.2 and 6.5. Only the bore was different. It has a one-piece rear main seal for either. They were produced from 1990 (late) to about 1993. 1992 and 1993 overlapped the 6.2 and 6.5, while both were available, depending on chassis. Some off-highway (non DOT) applications still offered the 6.2 all the way through 1996.
