Who makes an OPS socket and where can one be bought?
I found one at Pep Boys, don't remember the brand. It worked just fine. Most any parts store should have it such as Autozone, Checkers, Napa, etc. I believe mine was about $10 or so.
I changed my OPS, added a relay to the circuit and I haven't had a failure in nearly 100,000 miles.

i bought a socket at pep-boys, but the angle of the switch on my 97 sub wouldn't let the socket slide over the switch with-out hitting the intake so i cut an 1 1/16 wrench and welded it back at an 90 deg angle it worked great. if you get a cheap wrench at harbor freight it costs about the same as the socket

I picked up one at NAPA for less than $10

Thanks,I tryed Advanced and had my local parts house order one from the tool line they carry.Nothing has been deep enough.I have a set of those open-ends with 3/8 drive for offset wrenching, but 1"is biggest size.Your info will get me rolling again.
I bought one from Autozone a while back. It was a "fitzall" for, I think, 1 1/8" and 1 3/16" or something like that. Said right on the package "fits new GM oil senders". Bottom line, it was too short to get a good grip on the thing. I took it back and got the Lisle equivalent from NAPA and it worked a lot better.

Bought a Lisle.Worked great.Thanks
I just bought a OPS socket at autozone, they had it in the "OEM" brand name, #25254. It says fits most 1" and 1 1/16" switches, and accepts switches up to 2 5/8" long. Also says 91-newer gm OPS units and surprisingly it was only $5.99
Sounds like the same one I tried. Or, maybe it's improved. the one I had only reached far enough to grab about 1/2 of the flat on the nut part of the switch. I recal the switch was about 1/16" longer than the tool was supposed to fit. Should have read "Most '91 and later..."

My 2 cents. Bought a 27 mm deep socket at Sears. Works fine. I just replaced mine and took the old one apart to see inside. Pretty complicated little gizmo. Oil pressure pushes a little tower up. On top of the tower is a spring loaded flat bar that makes contact with two contacts - one on each side of the bar. This completes the circut for the fuel lift pump. I guess these little dudes are prone to failure since I'm now on my 4th one. I wonder if aftermarket is better than GM?
