controlling a vnt garrett turbo manually

i was wondering if anyone has play with the vnt turbo and figured out a way it can be controlled manually? we are thinking of buying an ebay take off turbo from 2006-2007 duramax and retro-fitting it onto a 6.2/6.5l hybrid motor... we have already figured out a mounting pedestal and up pipe arrangement, but are looking for insight into controlling the vnt manually... also if anyone happens to have pics of a vane control solenoid it would be apprieciated... thanks....:)

With a little ingenuity and mechanical expertise, it should be possible to create something like a wastegate actuator that functions like those used on the LB7.

That said, I'd be more inclined to adapt a Holset HX35W for use on the 6.2/6.5... Simpler install and should work as well...
