put a response here if you bought a PMD cooler that failed

The price range is quite a bit.
Is it worth double $ for the big ones?
If I had allot of money I wouldn't be on this board.
I can do repairs, but I don't enjoy it.
If I was loaded it would go straight to the experts.

There is NO 100% cure that I have seen. The FSD cooler (IMHO) mounted OFF of the engine gives you the best chance at a long life, AND easy service in the event of failure...

There is only one patented FSD Cooler. The others are knock-offs.

I bought the BETA cooler and installed on the intake per the BETA instructions, FSD failure 30,000 miles and $440 later. :mad: PMD lasted 100,000 miles. If some one really wants a BETA cooler I have one on the shelf, I'd sell it for $50.

IMNHO if your are going to mount a cooler, heat sink or what ever for the FSD off pump move it to a cool spot as the intake manifold is no better and maybe worse than the pump mount. Easier to change off the pump but you will have to change it on the manifold.

I went with the Heath PMD relocation, it included a cable extension (6ft), new PMD mounted on a heat sink. I paid just a bit more than what a paid for the first modual alone. So far so good but only time will tell.

99 tahoe still on original pmd after 55k miles

98 k3500 pmd failed at 55k now has fsd on cooler on fenderwell. failed less than 13 months and 12k miles after instal. replaced with second new fsd in same location and so far so good.

97 3500hd still has original pmd after about 50k very hard miles (dump truck)

96 k2500 pmd failed at 103k now has fsd on heath's heat sink on skidplate

96 k3500 pmd failed at 92k now has fsd on cooler on fenderwell

1 Failed after approx 10k miles ( 4 mounths )
Was mounted on top of fender well, with fan,
still to hot there, Now inside wit fan and
ducted A/C air for summer. 110 case temp tops.
