Hey, I recently discovered my truck has the dual stat crossover when I went to replace a stuck thermostat. Does the dual setup behave like a single up till operating temp? Or does it send coolant to the rad before then? My truck takes 8 miles at 15 degrees c and 80-100 km/h with a winter front and a two minute warmup to hit operating temp. Little long ,eh?

I know many people who put one 180 thermostat and195 in it I have done that when I had my 1 ton. And it sounds like urs are sticking open

And I replaced my single to a 180 the other day. And it only takes 2 miles to warm up now. The 195 was sticking open and it would take 10 miles to warm up

Thanks, anyone else have a comment on the t-stat temps? 195 or 180 or both and replace the 180 twice as often?

Just buy new GM/ AC Delco 192 degree stats. If you want the cooling system ccomponets to have a long life use only the oem fill coolant.Dex cool is the oem fill & is superior to any coolant on the market. All coolant hoses & the original push on hOEM heater hose connecction is still on my 1996 truck at about 190k miles. try to match that with after market green slime!!!
