Folks,

I have purchased an ISSPRO Pyrometer model R607T for my suburban. In examining the colored scale, I noted that the yellow( caution) line starts at 1000*F. with the Red(danger) starting at 1300*F. These values seem high when compared to the temperatures discussed here.

Which side of the Turbo is this pyrometer designed for? And where whould be a good place to install the probe?

Thanks for the help.

HammerWerf:
I dont know the model number of my pyro, however, the yellow starts at 875 and turns to red at 1000. It is designed to install after the turbo in the down pipe. I would assume that your's is designed to install in the exhaust manifold, before the turbo. Mine is also "ISSAPRO"
Have fun.

Hammerwerf,
I also have the ISSPRO R3607T. It is the pre turbo gauge.
Post turbo is R3607VR.
Believe most put the probe in the crossover pipe about 2" below the flange.
If I remember correctly this side is about 200 degrees hotter than post turbo. :confused
